Default Need pattern ideas

I bought a pattern and after looking at it closer I see that the whole thing is 2 1/2” strips. The fabric I bought looks like it should be a larger focus fabric. It’s for my niece who is getting married. My 2 sisters and I will be sewing on it together. We probably want a king size quilt. We decided on blues and greens. Any ideas??

Can you show the pattern?

So now you seek a pattern suitable for larger ' focal' prints? Check out my pinterest board ( look up Riana Noyes, my avatar is a white cat) named " large print quilts ". There are 24 ideas there.

Don't know what pattern you bought. If the pattern uses pieced blocks, could you alternate them with just plain one piece blocks of the larger pattern? maybe a double Irish chain quilt with the fabric you bought....substituting the center of the alternate background block with the focus fabric? I agree would help if you at least gave us a description of the large print block and the amount and color of the additional green and blue fabric you also bought.

I have had this one in my file for a long time. It takes 2 1/2" strips and a larger block and would make up quickly....will it work?

Oooh, I like that one Watson. That might have to go on my wall with the other 'some day' quilts.

Ok, here is my main fabric. The soon to be husband is a museum curator. I thought he might like the stamps. They are about 1 1/2”. Seems like I should cut a medium size square and add to that. I bought 4 yards of it. I may need to play with my EQ8 program. But a few of the ideas I will need to consider.

Just Can't Cut It is a great pattern for larger prints, and gives instructions for several sizes.

The stamp pattern is pretty and would work in many different patterns. I came across this one this morning and while the colors are faded on this view, the stars would be gorgeous made from your fabric. Or, the larger empty space and coordinating fabric would be great from your fabric. Regent Street Quilt Pattern (jedicraftgirl.com)
I plan on making a red/white/and blue from this pattern!

There are sew many different patterns that can be done with the 2 1/2" strips and adding another block to it or even a dozen different block combos. Make a sampler. They are always fun.
