    I really appreciate everyone's suggestions here. I am about to get "Lulu the Elephant " to longarm for a friend and it scares me. You've all given me some good tips.

    I haven't read all of these suggestions. Also, I'm not what I would describe as an "accomplished quilter".

    My suggestion for your color is to use a polyester clear thread. I'm not sure where you can find it now that Joann's had gone out of business, but I've used it extensively on "I Spy" quilts (my favorite quilt to make). The brand they carried is Guuterman (misspelled, I'm sure).

    Hobby Lobby carries a nylon clear thread. I've read that nylon is not a good choice.

    I certainly have been where you are! So excited to complete an awesome project. And, then, no idea how I am going to quilt it. Thankful for my quilting friends and your inputs! Even reading ideas for others' projects sparks ideas!
