I like the 3rd one over from the top, the one with the dark background.

The brown one for sure. Then I can match my threads both top and bottom to quilt it.

I like the darker one too. That is just the one my eye naturally went to.

I like the first one, the orange. I think it adds a lot of warmth and if she is a KF fan, I think it offers the best (and just right amount) of punch.

    Default Decision Reached!

I started playing with the leftover scraps of the quilt to make a throw pillow, and when I laid them out against the Orange Millefiori, it just looked 'right'. (Test picture below) I agree, the brown was probably the most neutral, and maybe *my* choice, but this is for my color-loving sis, it's got to have punch! Fabric is ordered and now I wait!

I think you could just ask your sister for advice, then she'll really be surprised when she gets it.

I like the second one best. Lots of turquoise on the front and I like the contrast of #2 with that.

But, since it's going to be her quilt, I don't want to spoil the surprise when she receives it. I *know* it has to be a Kaffe Fassett print - she loves them so much. Right now I'm bouncing around with the 4 possible fabrics: Millefiori -in Orange or Brown, Paperweight in Brown, or Roman Glass in Gold. Pix below.

So far I think his smaller prints will be less "over the top" (oh, pun unintended, lol!) but I'm open to convincing if the colors are right! Color's so subjective, but could you throw me an opinion, please?
You can still ask her for her advice on what backing should be used. Since she's your 'go to' person it wouldn't be strange for you to ask her...and that way you'll find out which backing she likes best.
