Hi,
I have a new thread to try out: Superior Threads' trilobal poly. The spool says to use a size 14 needle. I am going to try this out with a small quilting project.
What do I put in the bobbin? Same stuff? Aurofil? Doesn't matter?
I appreciate your help,
lots2do

the same or a bobbin thread. i would not put aurofil in the bobbin to try a new thread, too hard to get your tension equal...a 14 needle? that seems large, what weight thread is it? good luck

I would use Superior's Bottom Line.
Their website is excellent for tips and advice on which threads, which needles etc.

Thank you both for answering.
It's 40 weight thread. I'll check out the website.

40wt is thicker thread then piecing thread. It's good for machine quilting. Tribol poly is the new poly. It is excellent for high speed machines. Fil Tec makes a tribol poly called Glide. Many professional machine quilters are using it.
