The longer you wait the shorter the time to make it. Like Tartan says the pieces are cut just go for it. Enjoy.

I think white is the way to go too. It helps give the eye a place to rest. Love the fabrics.
The quilt with two names - Carpenter Star to me, goes together quite quickly with HST. You can use 8 of your fabrics. I did mine in batiks. Use the other two in the border. [/

OH, i LOVE that! Gorgeous batiks. I really like your braided border. Did you have a pattern?

Thanks, everyone, for the suggestions. After perusing Pinterest, I landed on a helix design. I've spent the last few days cutting, pressing, and doing the layout on my design wall. Haven't sewn anything together as I may still want to rearrange a couple blocks.

If I can get a picture later today, I'll post it. Definitely would like to have feedback on layout, border, and binding. I'm loving it so far, which is something I can't always say in this stage of the game!

I just bought a pattern called Bundle of 10 which would be great for a collection, it's available here

I will answer just so you can have it for reference. http://www.maryquilts.com/carpenter-star/

The border was on quilterscache. I'm glad you found a pattern, but we can always plan ahead. I've started a new CS with only three fabrics. Much easier to plan.
