I purchased this fabric to make a throw for my favorite cousin, but when I got the fabric I knew I could not part with it. So, I am working on one for me! Believe it or not I have NEVER made myself a quilt or blanket!! Anyway, I got lucky enough to walk into JoAnn fabric and find a "no sew" blanket package with the exact same theme!! The only thing it they only had one and they tell me they can't get anymore.

So here is the problem. The flannel backing is about 10" shy of the size of the front. So what would you do?? I was thinking about just using "regular" cotton fabric at the top and the bottom of the flannel back to make it match up?? What should I do??

I'd use a coordinating color scheme to make a border that makes the two pieces match up in size. Looks like a great project!

I'd try to find a coordinating flannel to add to the back.

I would find a coordinating flannel to make a border to go around all four sides of the back piece to fit the front piece.

I would definitely use the same type of material - I am confused though - if the 10" short is flannel, I would only use flannel to make it the equal size of the other size. Is that what you were asking? I am going to joanns tomorrow, inwould be glad to check for you for more.
