Hi! I am Wanda. I am new to quilting and would like to make a train quilt for my grandson but cannot find a pattern. Any suggestions?

Welcome from Ontario, Canada. What are you looking for? A pre-printed panel with a train on it, a pieced train pattern or an appliqué train pattern. If you are a beginner, something like a printed panel with Thomas the train engine may be the easiest.

Thanks! Yes, I am a beginner, but I really would like appliqués for the trains. I'd like one with sashing( I think thst is what it is called) between the rows.

Welcome to the board Wanda! For appliqué ideas, Google train coloring pages. Coloring pages are excellent patterns for appliqués !! Just make your appliqué blocks and put your sashing between the blocks; very simple pattern!!!

I was going to suggest coloring pages as well - that way you can choose as many cars as you like. You can sash between the rows of cars. Perhaps train tracks as a border. There are lots of cool train fabrics as well that you could fussy cut or use as backing.

    Cheers, K
