Thank you for that one sentence... I couldn't figure out why 2 squares, but you are only cutting them once each. Now it makes sense to me. The free directions did not seem quite complete to my old brain. Do the two squares need to be mirror images of each other? I knew I had been buying stripes for some good reason, just did not know what reason until now!

It is from Anita Grossman Solomon, and is called Anita's Unbiased Block. It can be found in Quilters Newsletter, the April/May 2012 issue, #429, on pg 50.
