I like them both, but I would go with the black.

I love the batik! Imho the blue is much fresher looking, and brightens the quilt. I think the black looks a little dull.

I normally would think the black but the blue makes it a happy quilt, so this time the blue.

I love to use black to frame my blocks, but that blue is amazing. Who is the quilt for? Would they appreciate the fun blue or calm black? Totally up to you. Can't wait to see which you choose!

Personal opinion, I prefer the blue. It feels like it has more movement. The black feels flat. I generally do not use solids, only those that read as a solid.

I think I would use the color that I want to be the dominant color in your quilt.
