I have the quilters choice by babylock, has taken me years to slow down on my needles breaking, turn machine on and hit button to get the needle in the center. This is an issue with my 1/4 inch foot, which has no hole on the left side, but only in the center. Try as I do, I still break needles from time to time because of this. Love my machine, though.

My Babylock default position is in the center. When I use my 1/4 inch foot with guide, I still bump the needle to the right to 4.6 (4.0 is center) to give me the "scant" 1/4 inch seam. It doesn't hit the single hole in the foot in that position.
