It’s going to look beautiful no matter which color you use. I don’t know how you’d feel about metallics, but silver might be nice.

I love the same thread as the fabric but I would be hesitant to make placemats. You might consider pillows for her bed or the couch or chair. Beautiful work on the stitching.

if you are worried about the writing not showing well enough, make it a bit bigger and then do a narrow "channel" of blank space around each letter and then your dense quilting. Cool idea
