GO to your library and ask if you can use their tables in the meeting room for a few hours. Bet they will say yes! :) Good luck! When I have to do work on the floor, I take the remote control to TV, cell phone, remote phone and a drink to the floor with me. I ignore the door if someone is there, they will call if they really want me to open the door! ;)

This is Sharon Schamber's method of basting a quilt, using boards - no more ruined knees! This is a 2-part video, be sure to see the next one too!
I remember being so excited when I saw that. I went out and bought 2 boards. Then I realized I have no table big enough that the boards and quilt don't hang off the sides. :(
I just watched this. What a fantastic idea. Since I try to do small ones, this is perfect. Thanks so much for that link!

I'm 31 years old and I feel your pain. I blew out my knee in an accident when I was 25. I've had RA in both my knees almost 7 years. My hips and ankles are bad too. I hate getting down on the floor. I completed understand what you are going through. I'm curious about that new method too.

Whenever I have to baste something, I employ my hubby and kids when I can. Otherwise, I take everything to my club meeting at a church and use the tables there.

YUP! Knee killer. My knees still hurt from when I basted a quilt in January. We had a large dinner where we put two large tables together in our dining room. It took me weeks to realize I could spread the quilt out over that and finish the basting! Since then I have purchased some 505 Basting Spray and used that for one project with excellent results.

    Keep going girlfriend!

Is there a school or church that have tables that you could use for pinning?

or even a library.some have large table that they have for meeting and such and perhaps they would let you use them.

Do you have a wall big enough to hang it on? There are some tutorials on this site on how to spray baste. Might be the answer for you.
