Good luck....I have also Brothers machine....They are very good and I am very happy with mine....(PQ1500,ce5000 and XR65..).... I eventually started my quilting experience on the XR65 that is a very cheap machine and I was so happy with the results that I decided to upgrade....On my wish list is some excellent embroidery machine (now I would rather wait and buy the best I can effort.....)
I know that Janome are ususally very good machine but when the gear was broken on mine we descovered that it was from a very cheap plastic and no way fo replace it....
.....All my best wishes on your new horse...

Thanks anina, I am so glad others have this machine and love it also. If I need help, I know it will be here. I also have an Brother embroidery machine,a PE750D, and I love it! only holds one spool of thread at a time, but I really enjoy it.

So happy for you, Ninnie. You already make beautiful quilts, so they'll just get more beautiful!
I'm VERY impressed that you read the manual BEFORE diving in! The rest of us would just jump in feet first...
