I have pondered about buying this software for about 3 years! I always had the argument that I didn't quilt enough, I didn't need it, wouldn't learn it, etc...etc...
Well, I bought it last Monday and I have to say...."I love it!"
I spent most of today going through the included lessons and playing. Didn't get much sewing done...
But I sure like this software! I am only starting to learn what it is capable of.
However, I wouldn't have appreciated it 3 or 4 years ago. I wasn't that fluent in quilt speak, not too computer literate and I am afraid that I would have gotten frustrated and shelved it. I am glad I waited.
By the way, if any one wants the Quilt Wizard software, I would be willing to sell it...that is a program for someone wanting to explore this avenue of quilt design.

I bought mine a couple weeks ago. I debated long and hard before doing it. I tried Quilting Wizard first and really liked that. But EQ6 is so much better. I like that I can import my fabric and see what my quilt will look like before I even cut anything. I'm still learning how to use it, but it was one of my really good buys.

Congrats on your new toy!! Isn't it fun? There is another one called Block Base that has alot of the KC Star patterns in it (I'm orginally from KC) getting this was a plus for me too. Have fun!!!

I love my EQ6 and spend time designing quilts while my hubby watches sports. If I find a pattern in a magazine that I want to make, I set it up in EQ6 and don't have to hang on to the magazine OR wonder where that pattern IS when I am ready to make it! I scan my own fabrics in so I can see what the quilt will look like in different colors and fabrics before I cut a single piece. I love trying different borders too. It tells me how much of each fabric I will need - then I check my "stash" before I cut so I don't have shortage issues. I can try quilting stencils and different colored thread to see how it looks before I start that process. It is just wonderful - would highly recommend it to anyone! And it is FUN!

Oh Razberry I am with you. I have only had mine a few weeks but there is not a day that I am not using it. I love the fact I can see what my quilt will look like before I even cut my fabric. I would recommend it to anyone.
