You could make this quilt with one or more layer cakes(10 inch squares). It would be beautiful and you would have an assortment of fabrics in one line of fabric. Just an idea.

Welcome from Arizona. This is a great first quilt to make all the standard size blocks and 1" or 2" connecting strips are all straight cuts and the backing is attached by a standard binding. If you feel over whelmed feel free to send out an SOS on this topic site and help will rally around and guide you through. There are tutorials on this site that can help you learn bindings and any other issues you may encounter.
