Since I've updated my design a bit and my internet is running to slow to go find the original post I'm just going to start a new post.

Here's the design layout I came up for this quilt (as well as a key for each block and how many of each is needed---I think I counted it right). I'll add the colorless version later when I have more time...some of you were interested in making the design in your own color schemes.

    What do you think?

Not quite sure how big this quilt's gonna be yet. Ideally, about 81x99 (9" blocks)...depends on what size the batting is (someone on here was kind enough to send me fabric and batting :)). Then there's still figuring out how to make these blocks in a way where I'm not left totally confused.

I love that border--and how the design goes right into it.

I think you are well on your way to becoming a quilt designer. Lovely and easy to follow. Two key ingredients to a great design!

Yvonne: You really think so? Maybe I should send in this design to a magazine or something.

There's still just one problem...still need instructions on how to make a double pinwheel and a square in a sqaure as well as figuring out how big the triangles have to be to make the desired size block. I found out the batting I'm getting is about 80x90 so---if my math is right---the biggest I can go for with this design layout is 72x88...so my blocks would have to be 8".

That pattern is great. You for sure are a designer! Might want to check around about how to get your designs out so you can make money on it. In the meen time I am copying this one. 8) Great work!

Still need help on how to actually go about making this. My Internet's really slow so its difficult trying to search for a good website that would have instructions on how to make these blocks...and I don't think I'd have much luck finding one on how to specifically make them 8".

 I cannot tell you how to do it, as I am inexperienced at anything but simple designs. I just wanted to tell you that I think it is a beautiful design.  I can hardly wait till you can do it and show us. I want to wish you luck, and tell you you have real design talent there.

Try http://www.quilterscache.com and look under quilt blocks galore. The square in a square block and the pinwheel 12 inch block seem to be your two main blocks. You would have to cut your pieces smaller to get 8 inches, but I bet if you played around with it a bit, you could figure it out. I think your quilt is going to be great!

    Here's a few sites I found:

    http://www.equilters.com/library/PFP/square-in-square.html

and the one Lucky Patsy's "Mom" told us about:

    http://www.quilterscache.com/S/SquareinSquareBlock.html

    http://www.quilterscache.com/P/PinwheelBlock.html

I'm so glad someone was able to send you fabric and batting!

I can run you up some cutting directions for both blocks, just let me know what size you want and I will post on the thread here.
