I just was curious and interested in hearing and and all thoughts/recommendations on my next project, please tell me what you think, thank you in advance and have a great day. Peace.

I share a double-wide mobile home here at the Florin Road Light Rail here in Sacramento with my older brother. My room is a good size and where the sliding glass doors used to be is and expando addition making my room very nice and quite nice for size. Probably from about the early 70's the lady who lived here put these ugly standard orange drapes on the windows here I'd like to replace them but unable to do this, I thought I would make new drapes using the multitude of color/fabrics that I have, using a crazy quilt or a very easy pattern I could make some new drapes and that might look pretty good here with minimal(?) costs here. Never seen this done. Please let me hear any thoughts/ideas you might have and have a great day. :-)

That sounds like a good idea to use what you have. I like to look at pictures of curtains & window treatments in Penny's online catalog to get ideas.

i would thinl you would have to foundation peis thbem because of the size a waight of the curtains and that might defeat the purpous of making it crax patch. maybe somene can help you out a bit more though. bet it would look realy pretty though

When I made my curtains, I Googled curtains, and you would be surprised what you can come up with. I'm sure they will turn out great.

I have seen pictures of smaller curtains, valances and shower curtains that look great. Check out Bonnie Hunter's site Quiltville. She has a bunch of scrap quilts that would look good for your project.

Wishing you luck on this. I'm facing the same situation in my living room. Though I don't wanna put anything up. I'd rather just enjoy looking at the forest. Hubby Dear wants curtains. I'm thinking I may wait 'till the dogwood fabric comes out and do something with that, on HIS budget.

Do you want to block the light or just filter it. Do you want to be able to have good lighting available for your quilting?

I love so many different things: light filtering shades and vertical blinds ... either with valences and side drapes which could be quilting scraps.
