OMG this is so awesome.....your mom is certainly smiling on the child and on you for being willing to let something of hers go so that her memory will live on for years to come....God Bless you for being open enough to see that......very awesome indeed.....

This is so great and gives hope to us who dream of passing on our love of quilting. My two daughters could care less about sewing. My oldest finds quilts boring and has no desire to even own one. To her she tells me this is my thing and not hers. My youngest might take it up later on. Who knows. BUT I have one granddaughter who is 7 years old and she is my artsy crafty girl. She will get all my arts and crafts. But she also lives in Australia and willing off my machines that are geared for the USA outlets might be a little tricky not to mention the cost of getting them to her.
But who knows what the future holds. I might end up living down under myself.

Congrats...you did it....got another generation interested in quilting. Nice job!

I have the same dilemma now. My daughter wants the machine my aunt gave me when I graduated high school...my dependable Featherweight. Fortunately, she has already gotten the quilting bug, but has a problem hanging onto things (everything important seems to get lost). I may eventually give it to her, but not for awhile.

When you get a chance, get a picture of the quilt she is making and post it! We'ld love to see what the next generation is doing.
