Northcott for sale on Thousand Bolts
#1
There was a discussion on another topic about the quality of quilting fabrics and I wondered, do places like Northcott make different qualities of fabric but still sell it under their name? I trust the name of Moda and Northcott but since the price is so low and price has been a huge topic here, is quality compromised with a lesser cotton?

Thousands of Bolts buys older lines or excess that the factory could not sell that is why they can sell them so inexpensively. Kind of like when a car dealer really lowballs the 2010 cars when the 2011 models are about to be delivered. They are not the newest and latest but maybe the leftovers that didn't sell from last year's or the previous year's newest and greatest. This is how they can sell so cheaply. I have never, ever been disappointed with any name brand fabric I have ordered from thousands of bolts.

It has always been my opiniong (having worked with fabrc companies) they they don't make different qualities. Unless they are making expecially for a bus9iness that traditionally sells lesser qualities. In most cases the company doesn't have quota of cotton fabric to do it. Also it is my opinion that the base fabric is almost the same. It is in the finishing that makes the difference in quality.
