drives me nuts when that happens, usually with a needle eye too small. But the thread is not too good either.

I thought it was just me who found 'connecting threads' to be very linty. I mostly use what I have in the bobbin.

Good idea! I have some spots on my Janome that I can see but I can't quite reach. Thanks!

I had some that did this while trying to embroider. I changed to an embroidery needle and used thread conditioner and it took care of the problem (on the advice of local shop).

I would never ever use a brand of cotton again if it did that to me. I always use Schmetz Jeans needle, size 12 normally and my favourite thread of all time is "Threadart" own. http://www.threadart.com/shop/category.aspx?catid=6 I gulp and pay the postage as their prices are so reasonable and the quality of their thread is superb. I buy the large cones and small spools of variegated threads, and have done so for nigh on 5 years and never had any problems with them.

Hahaha... that one would take such a large hole, that the needle wouldn't be able to go down through the little hole in the plate. Absolutely NO excuse for that! That's a bit more than just lint, don't you think?
