I am so glad someone asked about the "net" that came with my machine, which I had absolutely no idea how to use. Thanks. ;)

I use the pony tail hair bands to keep the thread from unwinding.

I too got hundreds of them from our local florist. shared them with gals in out quilting group. finally had to tell the florist to stop saving them as we all had enoug to last for years. she was glad to recycle as they just got thrown away.

Your local flower shops get a type of these that are perfect for all your threads. I used to get them regularly. The florist told me they came in on the flower buds to keep them protected in shipping. I never had to pay for these as the florist was happy to recycle.

My LQS gives away the stretchy netting that you find on fresh flowers. A local florist gives them to the shop. They can be used for spools of thread, wrapping paper, etc. PM me your address. Joyce

I got 2 different styles from sellers on ebay. If I remember right, it was 9.99 for appx 50 ft for one and the other was sold in 6"lengths. Can't remember the cost. I came across them when I keyed in 'machine embroidery thread'. You could try 'thread nets'.

the stocking on the spool idea is as old as the hills--widely used in commercial applications...you can make your own easily!! any old stocking will do--it's all in the drape!
