Default Octagon template

are there such things as octagon templates? I see hexagon galore but no Octagon that isn't $50.00.
I printed out some but still might like an acrylic one.

I don't think I've seen an Octagon, but you could make your own easily.

You could trace your template on a plastic lid of a ice cream bucket or coffee can. It might be possible to go to a wood working or glass store and have a template cut to your size

There are many sizes of acrylic octagon templates on Amazon. All under $20.

well thanks. I know i looked. I put a 6 inch one in my cart. I can always enlarge that one if need be in future. i just think octagons are easier to put into a quilt than hexagons unless you use half hex's. Thanks.

You could do the same as I did when I wanted a set of hexagons.
I took my paper templates to my local glass cutter, who does replacement windows.
No problem ... they did me the full set on plexi, the same as our rulers.
All accurately cut with smooth edges, for minimal costs.

I have done this other times, when I had an off-beat template I was going to use a lot.
One being, the apple core.
I zipped around that pretty quickly with one of the small rotary cutters on multi-layers.
In no time, I was ready to start sewing at the machine.

Check Paper Pieces website. Not sure what size you need.

You might try looking for “snowball blocks with equal sides” and that may be the way to go.
