I would leave it and finish it. Just tell her she can use it either side.

Another vote for just leave it. As said earlier, the penguins will look fine if the quilt gets folded back. It's an intentional design decision especially if it is a large quilt.

I need more coffee this morning. Actually had to get paper and pen and draw a pine tree on one side, flip the paper and draw the penguin, and fold the paper down!! Total brain fog this morning!! LOL

I would leave it. I don't think that the backside and frontside have to match directionally. It'll be fine.

Yep. Design decision. Let that be your story and stick to it. I'd bet nobody will ever notice.

I would leave it. I think it is a better option if the top gets folded back.

Just own it! It was meant that way. When printing on two sided paper, you can choose to flip on the long side or the short side, You made an artistic decision to flip on the short side. Besides, I would LOVE to see penguins doing handstands!

Well friends, I've decided to just leave it as is! My sister is a very gracious and forgiving person. Besides, I've never made a perfect quilt yet -- why start now? Thank you all for your input!

If you were to turn the bed down, with the quilt turned back at the top, the penguins would be facing the right way. I think, lol. I would say that's why it was done that way.
