Wednesday was an absolutely beautiful day; warm, breezy, low humidity. Just the kind of day I don't want o be in the office. But I needed to be there. We decided to take advantage of the nice weather and opened up doors and windows for an airing out. sitting in my office, working on a new account when a terrible screech behind me. I was in the next office so fast! Jake starts laughing and gets up to look outside for the source. I told him it was in my office and he laughed harder. So he goes in and starts poking around when suddenly he bolts. Eyes huge, stammering, "there's something in there!" Turns out it's a chipmunk! Uggh! The next hour was like a Laurel & Hardy skit. Tables overturned to block him from the resat of the office, cracker trail to try to lure him out, moved furniture and a broom. finally got him out only to find him sitting outside the closed door later. I sure hope he doesn't have a family somewhere in my office. New office rules; no open doors! Ever!

Litacats- they are cute. I pictured a bunch of humans going crazy to find that little critter. How funny!! But frightening for the chipmunk!! :D

I've never had a chipmunk in the office... but I did once have a squirrel in my attic sewing room.

So I got Shelly, my most efficent huntress-cat. It took her less than five minutes to catch the squirrel, by the nape of the neck, same way mama cat carries her kittens.

I suppose it did look rather strange to see me hanging cat+squirrel out the open third floor window, shaking them both to make Shelly let go of her "prize".

Prize squirrel was unharmed, and ran off through the gutter.
