I went to wal mart and saw some beautiful white fabric...it is 100% cotton and was only 2.47 a yard..so I quickly bought 5 yards..was so excited!!
I use white a lot on the backs on my baby quilts...when I got home I was feeling of it and looking at my great find..Then....I noticed on the selvage it had..insulated..??? I had bought lining for curtains!!! I washed a piece and it washes good and doesn't shrink much at all.. So do you think I can use it in quilting??? The bad thing is when I got home they had cut me a yard too much so I had to go back and pay for the extra yard..Now I have 6 yards..!!!

I don't see why you couldn't use it since it's 100% cotton and what a great price!! Give it a try!

I would say it depends how it feels next to the skin. Also, if it is insulated it may make a quilt too hot. I would lie down and drape the fabric over me for a while and see how it feels. If all is okay, GO FOR IT.

It said insulated..rain proof?? Water kinda of bounced off of it but is ok after it is washed??? Don't think the insulation is for retaining heat???

I don't see why not. I used curtain fabric in a quilt and it came out great. It was the only fabric I could find a certain color in.

I think it would make a nice warm quilt. You may have given us all a new idea. I wish my Wal-Mart still had fabric. I really miss it.

I say use it! I think it will me very toasty...I think insulated means retaining heat. I wonder if you got rubber sheeting by mistake? Is it kind of rubbery on the back? JoAnns has it in white.

No it does not have any rubber on back..I can't tell it has anything on it..Except when you put water on it..It beads up..till it gets real wet..Does that make sense?? This is what it says...
guaranteed roc-long rain no stain insulated lining

It looks like polished cotton till washed then it is like regular cotton.

    Thanks everyone!!
