For the stockings, why not sew one top and one lining together at the top (wrong sides together for the sewing) and do the same for the back and lining. Turn and press. Use one unit of bias tape to join the front sandwich to the back sandwich (right sides of lining together) and use a little extra bias tape for the loop at the top of the stocking.

That is the way I like to do it, too. Not always happening though. You reminded me of the Christmas, when my boys were very young (back when I decided what they wanted). I saved the catalogs from Sears and Penneys and did all my shopping before they ran out in the summer. It was great, one of my shining moments.

Got my mom some preprinted quilt squares for her to embroider as she loves handwork on clearance at Hobby Lobby for 4.00 ea. pack with 6 squares in each, got her 5 packs. Also have made 3 quilts for gifts so far this year. So, I guess I am a little ahead of the game. But that is me. I shop the sales through the year. Last year I had all my shopping done by labor day. It was great not having the last minute rush.

I've been thinking of a few things, but that's where it will stay, in my mind, for a while. I'm working on a foundation pieced scrap quilt for my daughter's new king-size bed in their newly built house. Their house burned last September and they've had a stressful time. They'll be moving in within a couple weeks. So Christmas will stay on the back burner for a while.

I've got a Christmas tree skirt almost finished, and a queen quilt started. I don't crank out a lot, and this will be the first year to really give quilts as gifts.
