I know I want to make Christmas gifts for my extended family this year but not everyone is getting a quilt and not everyone would want one, so I am still in the what am I going to make phase. I'm thinking wall hangings, mug rugs, table runners and the 2 littles of the family will each get a twin quilt--that might be a bit much for me though, eyes bigger than stomach thing going on.

Our family doesn't go crazy with gifts because there are so many of us. But I do have all the couples gifts already...one of my recipes was selected for a Gooseberry Patch book, so they are all getting one of the books. I know what I am making for the grandkids -- their initials to hang on the wall, and have some of the supplies for those. I will also make some kind of goodie.

I'm working on a Sunbonnet Sue for my MIL for Christmas. She didn't really request it but she sure did a lot of hinting around. My husband even realized it.lol Lot of weddings coming up though.

I was at Walmart last month and they had a great clearance table in toys. Barbie doll sets for 3.00. My granddaughters love them so I bought 6 different ones and put away for birthdays and christmas. Also had lots of baby toys. I bought a bunch for my newest granddaughter who will be 10 months at christmas. I think I got her 5 toys for under 10.00, including a teddy that talks and sings to you. Got my mom some preprinted quilt squares for her to embroider as she loves handwork on clearance at Hobby Lobby for 4.00 ea. pack with 6 squares in each, got her 5 packs. Also have made 3 quilts for gifts so far this year. So, I guess I am a little ahead of the game. But that is me. I shop the sales through the year. Last year I had all my shopping done by labor day. It was great not having the last minute rush.
