We have an open living, dinning room, kitchen. It was not to bad when I only had my sewing machine set up in the dinning room, but then my sweet husband bought me a quilting frame and we brought in 2 6ft tables and that is now in there also. We have to eat in the dinning room which is our only place to eat. I like the fact that I am with everyone, but it looks cluttered all the time. Oh well, as long as it does not bother anybody else I am OK with it.

I love this topic, (must) only second time I've posted!!! We had a large garage, when I got the Longarm, I moved out of the Family Room and into a brand new Studio, 1/3 of the garage, 13 x 30!!! I'm in heaven!!!

I would love a dedicated sewing space. Right now it is all in my bedroom and closet. My closet is large enough to be considered but there is no window. I think about taking over the living room that is rarely used but then we would find that we need it. Good luck

I was sewing in the garage. I had a heater, an air conditioner, a fan. I was happy. I got phneumonia and the husband said, "We gotta get you out of the garage". So we built a handicapped accessable house with a 12 x 14 room for just me and sewing. He is happy now, I always was.

We actually closed in the carport and turned it into my sewing room.
It's right off the kitchen and is about 19' x 23'.
Hubby put in 4 large windows that go from almost the ceiling to the floor. It has lots of natural light. He ran the duct work for the ac and heat, had carpet put in.
I LOVE IT! It's my "happy place".

My last one moved off to University so I moved my sewing room from an unheated room to her heated room. Am getting it set up now and will show before & after pictures when I find a countertop for sewing table. This thread had been great inspiration and motivator!

I keep all my sewing/crocheting/quilting stuff in the one area of our great room (20x40), one end table in there by my chair with some mags and currently a crocheted afghan in progress, and a bit in the sun room which is really a junk room.
Some day when we re-do the sun room, I will move all my stuff in there out. That way, if I want to work on a project and leave it out, I can do so. Right now because of DD cat's, I alway's have to put things away when we leave the house or at night for bed. Real bummer.
