Good Eye, Barb in Louisiana ... would work perfectly in Ombres!

Your suggestion makes me wonder, what about the good ol' Warm Wishes pattern done with an ombre?

Another way I have been using an ombre is as the background constant in an applique.

Not finished ... but it was the Sew Musical RxR blocks from a few years ago.
All of my appliques are in a dark navy (almost black) to give a silhouette effect.
The ombre goes from darkish royal to light sky blue and back to royal across the width.
I've been quite pleased with the effect ... just need to get back at it ...
Just too much life has been happening!

I must admit I had to google the definition of ombre fabric and it turns out I have a piece of two...who knew? Just goes to prove you are never to old to learn something new. Some of the patterns and quilts linked in this thread are really great and I'm going to revisit here again after the project I have coming up next. Thanks for teaching this old dog a new trick.

Thus I’m here seeking suggestions and or patterns that would work well with these pretty fabrics.
I would google ombre quilts there are quite a few patterns out there, I have one called ombre lattice, and also one called gypsy by Judi Madsen twhere she used ombre fabric in the sample

I bought some ombre yardage a few years ago as an impulse buy for the background of a star quilt. Once I got home in different lighting, it really did not work with the fabric I bought it for. I stuck it on the shelf and forgot about it, but I have plans to use it as a background for white stars. It's a fabric with a crackly print, that fades from teal to deep blue-green. I am still looking for the right neutral fabrics for the stars.

This is the pattern I bought it for:

Karen Combs’s Quilts of Illusion quilts are 3-D effects that could use the different shades in the ombré fabrics. I find them very appealing.

I purchased "Gentleman's Agreement" pattern and ombre fabrics a few months ago. Can't wait to get started on it!

This quilt was in the Houston IQF. I'm not sure if the maker used ombre fabric but I think they would work well.
