One More Question Regarding Rag Quilts
I have sewn the X's and am ready to sew the blocks together. Do I sew from edge to edge or leave 1/2" at each end? And when I sew the rows together, what do I do with the corner seams on each set of blocks sewn together. Do I open up the edges and sew across them? Did I ask that right?????

I've made one rag quilt. I've used a 1/2" seam, and I just sew across the seams on the corners, then cut them along with everything else. It turned out really nice! I used the tutorial Missouri Star Quilt Co. had on YouTube when I was making mine and would definitely recommend it. Jenny is a great teacher!!

Yep, I also do like mama02011. First I sew the blocks in rows, going all the way across the block on each side. Then I sew the rows together. It all comes out when you use the rag snips and looks great.
I also take my finished quilt to the laundromat, wet it, put it in the dryer without any heat til I get rid of enough of the loose threads. Of course, I have to empty the dryer frequently. Once there isn't much more threads I actually dry the quilt. Much better than clogging up my machines.
