    I rarely use my 6x24
    only two ... my 6x12 and 15 1/2" square.
Actually ... the two rulers I use the most are my 6x12 and the shape cut (as big as I can get it!)

Beleive it or not I use my 3 1/2" by 24" ruler and my 6 1/2" sq the most. Although I have a 16 1/2" square ruler I use for squaring things up. But like esqmommy I have about the same number of rulers I have acquired over the years.

I would have to say I agree with most of the gals the 6x24 and the 12.5".

Those are the 2 I have, but I think I would rather have the 12 1/2 square.

I agree with Klue and others on the 12 1/2" square and the 6"x24" rulers. The 6"x24" ruler to cut strips with and the 12 1/2" square ruler to square up blocks as large as 12 1/2" and as small as 1".

Well, I have to agree...sort of... my favorite is a 6.5 x 24. But being a hand stitcher of old my second choice would be a 1" by 18" . It's interesting, I never had to "square up" a block until I started machine piecing.

Ditto this for me. Those exact rulers are practically worn through at finger hold spots at my house!!

WOW! I've never seen a ruler with a lip, but boy I certainly need to look for that. I have a terrible time keeping my ruler from slipping. I've tried every trick I've heard of, but continue to slip.

I actually have a 6x24 6x12 and then I found a 6x14 which is my favorite, sometime the 6x24 can be a little unruly, no pun intended. I also have my 12.5 square which I love and use probably the most.
