I don't think she has enough fabric and enough repeats to make a stack-n-whack.

Those are beautiful fabrics! I would go for something that uses large pieces or has a large center square so that you don't have to cut them up into unrecognizable pieces. JMO. What a sweet MIL you have!

I was just at Hoffman Fabrics. They have a free downloadable quilt pattern that looks like Japanese Lanterns. http://www.hoffmanfabrics.com Click on the free quilt patterns in the sidebar, it will show all of them, but the Japanese lantern one looks like it would have bigger pieces like suggested.

Ohh, so pretty! Not sure what I would do with it but can't wait to see your final product. Stack and wack sounds nice.

There is a pattern called "Bento Box" that works well with Oriental style fabric.
