Thanks everyone! Yea dh is happy, he knows he has a quilt under the machine for him! A marine quilt. He tells everyone that I am a quilter! I do love the replies here, I am smiling!!!

If it is for gifts and charity, I agree that it doesn't count. Especially since your DH was aware of the plan and didn't object. By buying extra (twice...lol), you are only able to make MORE quilts for charity. :)

My DH is the same way. His quilt is an Airborne quilt...I'm still planning, but he is very excited about it. I made a mini-practice block of what his quilt will have on it...he was so proud and excited, he brought it to work to show all of his Airborne buddies. :)

You could also add that you are "gifting" to the shops at this difficult time of year in this economy!
