Opinions needed about Accuquilt, please?

I have the Baby Go! and love it. In my experience there's very little fabric waste and it's much more accurate than when I try rotary cutting. I did mark the die outlines with a silver pen which makes positioning the fabric easier. This weekend Shoppers Rule has the Baby on sale for $69.95 with the purchase of any four dies (shipping is free and the dies are on sale). There are several yahoo groups for Accuquilt and I've learned a lot from them!

I think the one fro paper is the Mark, and it looks just like the Studio, but might be a bit cheaper. I wonder if the dies would work for both machines, (paper and fabric)....as the machines look to be almost identical!

I love mine! I bought all of the BASIC dies and find myself mostly making blocks that are for the dies. I am in a block swap so that comes in handy. It was pretty nice cutting out all my pieces for my nieces kaleidoscope quilt all at once. I DID waste a lot of one color until I realized I was folding to many times and on the double triangle die I was coming out with large corner scraps. When I quit foldin and stacked pieces, then slid them over to get the next set, I wasn't wasting anything but the barest edge.
It does have a learning curve when it comes to making it work for YOU. Your not going to find any really wierd shapes. They are pretty standard so if you are doing a quilt with odd shapes it probably won't do you any good. Like I said, I just choose patterns that I CAN cut with it :)
Be aware that if you decide on a Baby Go that you can only get the skinny dies. The larger ones won't fit it.

I have the Go and I like it a lot. Not sure if I love it yet. I hate that it only takes accuquilt Go dies while other cutters take several companies' dies. I don't worry much about the waste. I waste more when I try to rotary cut and mess up.
I am hoping to save for the Big Shot Pro but only if I find other companies' dies that I want. Also I've read (but not verified) that the BSP rolls fabric through more easily. The Go kills my arm and shoulder.

I am an elementary school teacher.....Hmmmmm, we who work with children need quilting to help us destress??? LOL
I have the Accuquilt Studio and I love, love, love it. It does for quilting what the Ellison machines did for bulletin boards!!! Seriously, it is well worth the investment. My friend has one also. This is nice as we can share the specialty dies that aren't used too often.

Not sure I understand your statement.:roll: :roll: I have a Go that I'm learning to use....in fact I cut 3 yds of 2 1/2" strips yesterday with no worry about fabric bowing & now have 3 yds of perfect strips.I cut 8" strips,double them & end up with 6 strips,with just the turn of the handle.There's 2 quarter inch strips left. Small enough... they go in the trash.My values are just fine,thank you.I could say more, but trying to play nice. :? :roll: :roll:
