Love that center panel! What if you put another border of blue and gold (solid) on the sides and then the pinwheels across the top and bottom. I think putting the pinwheels all the way around takes away from the center panel. Looking at it again, what if you put some orange and black along the sides? Bring out that adorable tiger a bit more? It is just so cute!

I love the idea of pinwheels all around. It shows movement and it complements the carriage in the center.

I'd be tempted to put a sashing in between them.

Very nice so far. My suggestions: I'd do a framing black border (1"finish) and a bit larger gold border (1.5 or 2" finish). Then your pinwheels, and last, finish with the purple border or another fabric that is black, gold and purple with black binding.

Maybe I could back them off and add them later...
What if you use the pinwheels in the 4 corners & something else (a stripe?) as a border between them?
