I have a Jem Platinum 720 which was upgraded and replaced by the 760. Basic difference is the 760 has a lot more stitches programmed into it. I love this machine! I take it to my sewing group all the time and it is perfect to take along.
One thing to be careful of if you look at Sears or Hancocks:they both sell cheaper small Janome machines that are not much like the Jems except for size. Check to see if the bobbin case is mounted horizontally (drop in) or vertically. The newer Jems all have the horizontal bobbin case.
Hope you enjoy your new machine whatever you decide.
