What size organ needles would be best to use in A Juki for quilting
I have just paid $14.50 not long ago for 10 needles, now I have mislaid them and need to buy some more, even with the postage I would be better of buying them from USA

Remember Organ makes different types of needles. You don't want the ball point for sewing cotton. Organ makes needles for Brother, Janome and Pfaff special just for those machines if you find your machine is fussy with the regular Organ needles.
I studied about steel production in a metallurgy class. Japanese steel is the best steel for needles and pins. And the Japanese manufactured needles are the industry standard for quality needles. I always look for made in Japan when buying pins and needles.

I use Organ needles. I always ordered from here:
http://www.ctsusa.com/_e/dept/21/Hou...ne_Needles.htm
They have a huge variety and I always thought the prices were good. However, amazon is alot cheaper! I'll have to go there from now on.

My sister and I split a batch of 100 organ needles. The size 16 needles were all deformed. We did not check the needles when we got them. They had odd shaped holes and the grove was not straight on every one of them. If you buy on line you will want to look at them with a magnifying glass as soon as you get them home. Compare them to a needle you know is good. The needle hole should be smooth and a bit oblong or oval. The groove should be straight and smooth. Those were a fluke - we have bought organ needles before and they were just fine.

Discount Embroidery sells Organ needles at a very good price. According to DE the needles are the same as the ones
sold by Superior Threads but put in a different package. I have been very happy with the Organ needles.

What size do you all prefer for piecing? I guess I am unfamiliar with what different sizes should be used. Being self-taught and just sewed with whatever was in the machine and then to Schmetz because I didn't realize there was a difference so please give me some wise advice! Love this board, can ask all my silly questions and know someone will answer me! Thank you in advance. Sharon
