I have about 50 pantos. I store them in a hanging see thru storage organizer. I bought it at WalMart. It has a top hanger and has open end storage cylinders on both sides, that allow you to see which pantos are in each one. My larger pantos stick out on each end.
Each cylinder will hold 4 or 5 comfortably. I make sure I put the picture of what it looks like to the outer side so that I can scan all the pantos to start choosing which one I want. I can only see one side of the hanging unit, at a time, so I turn it on the swivel hanger to look at the other side. This works 100% better than the box I had them stored in.
Edited to add: These storage units are found with the shoe and sweater storage hanging organizers.
Kohl's has this version http://www.kohls.com/product/prd-100...FdcKNwod8qIBwA

I only have a handful (like less than 10) so I just toss them in my antique steamer trunk which is where I also store my thread. If you google images of pantograph storage you will get several good ideas

Too funny.. another group I'm in was just discussing this.
Look at this "ladder" approach ... they are easy to make from what I've heard and gives you tons of room. https://www.google.com/search?q=quil...w=1280&bih=573

I stole my cousin's idea. She does a lot of long arm quilting. Hers are stored in a clear hanging shoe organizer. She has a label on the end of each template with the label showing the pantograph. I got the organizer but have misplaced it. She hangs it on the back of one of her doors.
