I did one I called "the wall" ( Pink Floyd), can't find the pic. Looked like a brick wall in the dark, fabric had a "texture" sort of like stone. I even added some vines climbing up it.

Summertime and the living is easy. all summery colors.

Red Red Robin come hopping hopping a long. Do you have bird fabric, frog fabric?

Food prints Hungry by Paul Revere and the Raiders

I think the key is keeping theme and colors to what YOU like
If an idea is too good not to try, but not your taste make a dolly quilt

We Are The Champions. This would be a good time to be creative with stash, too easy to buy team logos now.

any song of a patriotic song? Tie a yellow ribbon, When johnny comes marching home, I think that is from our Civil War.. Pick the song that sings England, and do a War of the Roses? Most of us have too much florals ?

This was a challenge a few years back. Maybe Google quilts made from song titles and see what comes up.

our guild did this last year--I did one of Bob Segar's "Against the Wind"--with my daughter on her horse and running into the wind. can't get the pic to upload.

One of the coolest collections was a Beatles songbook--especially "She came in through the bathroom window"!

Some ideas to help you get your creative juices flowing ....

If you would like to be patriotic
♪♫God Save the Queen♫♪ ... lots of range there for a royalty theme
♪♫Rule Britannia♫♪ ... could be interesting.
Maybe a storm a sea background and a ship on top? Or the Union Jack?

The Beatle's ♪♫Love Love me Do!♫♪ ... for a romantic theme!
♪♫Yellow Submarine♫♪ ... could be fun one.

Any of the Christmas hymns, carols or non-religious seasonal tunes.
Or ones for other occasions ... ♪♫Here comes Peter Cottontail♫♪, come to mind.

Kiddy Songs would let you do a nice baby quilt if that was of interest.
♪♫Old McDonald♫♪ would give you lots of subject matter to work with.
Another for fun ♪♫A-B-C-D, E-F-G♫♪ (The Alphabet Song), would be another one, just for fun!

If it were I, I'd start with my favourite song and see what I could turn it into as a quilt!
I'd probably consider appliques, as they help when telling a story in a quilt.
And too, I would probably downsize it and do it as a mini, whether applique, or not.
