550 miles for a hotel room paid for by company, maid service, all day to sew without interruptions. Take off.

See ya when you return home to tell us all about it. And I vote for getting in trouble -- I know that's exactly what I would do!

You all are great enablers and funny too. You could even help me get over my indecisiveness about long car trips. How could I not go with you cheering me on?! I'll return and report for sure! Now I better get packing...

550 miles is nothing. It's a day's work basically. Bring some of your favorite CD's (mine would be books on tape) and enjoy the ride.

It's only "sin city" for quilters during the week of the AQS show. Every other week it's just a "shop hop" :) Trouble? Sure. But how often will you get to shop at QIAD, Hancocks of Paducah AND don't forget the MUSEUM!!!

So, look at it from the bright side. You can go when it's cheaper - both from the perspective of the room is on the company dime and it's not AQS week so the 1000 vendors usually at the show are not there to tempt you.

And of course scope it all out to plan for your NEXT trip during AQS week!!!

    Have fun.

Hurry up and get well so that you can hit the road. Pick out a pattern that you really want to do, gather up all spare money, and spend the day at Hancock's choosing the perfect fabrics. The girls at Quilt in a Day are great, you'll be close to the Quilt Museum, don't forget Quilter's Alley and Calico Cupboard has just opened a store, too.

Maybe you could take the bus instead of driving, which would be a lot easier on you.

Go for it, girl!! You might not get another chance!!
