Default Paducah trip in the future

Any recommendations on a hotel near Hancocks? Just looking for a safe, clean, w/free breakfast room. TIA

There are several right near Hancocks. Hampton Inn and Suites is good. Be aware tho, if you go during quilt week in the Spring or Fall, the room price is more than triple the usual rate.

Make reservations by Feb. You can stay outside of Paducah if you drive there or rent a car. I stay in a small town about 30 min away at Comfort Inn. If you want right in the center of the quit show with free bus transit then you have to book a room as soon as reservations open for the new year. The room rate triples during quilt week so be prepared for $160 - $250 or more a night depending on type of place. I highly recommended not staying at the cheapest place.

When we go we stay in Marion(?sp) Illinois which is about an hour away. It's been a few years since I've gone in the Spring, but hotels in Paducah were always filled up even when I'd call months ahead.

Most of the people put their names on a pre booking for a room when they check out. When it comes time to confirm they have first choice. That's why most fill up fast. You have plenty of time to cancel before the show, some as close as 24 hours. I'd start calling in January.

I'm lucky enough to be able to make a round trip and not staying overnight.

We always stay at Harrah's Casino in Metropolis, IL (about 10 miles from Paducah), mainly because we get our rooms and meals comped because we frequent Harrah's properties throughout the year. I still think you might find the rooms cheaper than in Paducah. However, I know there are a couple of hotels right off the Interstate there in Metropolis. Hope this helps.

My girlfriends and I are planning a trip there next Spring - glad to read this information.
It is a shame that hotels are tripling their rates, though.

A few years ago we all stayed at a hotel just across the street from Hancocks, hiked down the street to a stop light, ran across the road and was there.
