Default Paper piece pattern???

I’m kind of new to paper piecing so my question is... I want to do a block in a block to be 4” in total size for a border. I’m afraid if I piece it it’s going to be wonky. If I make my own pp pattern for something this simple would I just draw out the pattern and go? Is there a website with pp patterns like quilters cache or something like that? Thanks everyone!!

That sounds simple enough to draft yourself. Start by drawing the 4" finished square then mark the centerpoint of each side of the square. Draw the inside square by connecting the centerpoints. Add 1/4" seam allowance to the outside of the 4" square.

Will the inside block be on point? There are free instructions on the net to make a square in a square block. Have you Googled it or tried one? You may not need to do paper piecing at all.

Yes, indeed, draw it out and go for it!
First, check that the graph paper you use is accurately measured.
Too, remember to allow for your 1/4" seam allowances.

You mentioned a block in an block ... I am thinking you mean SIAS (Square In A Square).
To save you the work of drawing it out, here's a link to several sizes of PP-SIAS's.

Just as with the self-drawn PP patterns, check that the scale/measurements are accurate for downloads.
If not, make the necessary adjustments.

I've drawn out lots of PP patterns ... and have used many found online.
It really opens up your possibilities for what you can do!

Good Luck and have fun with the process!!
