    I see the difficulty you're talking about. You'll have to PP it in more than one section. You'll have to do at least two sections, and maybe even three sections, on each side of 9.

    Okay, this is how I would do this. You definately need to break it down into 3 pieces. Then, I marked in red the order that I would sew the pieces on.

    You need to break into more foundations:

    1-5 on one foundation
    6-8 on a second.

    join them.

    Now join both to one side of #9

    That is what I was worried about having to do. Thanks for the help now off to cut up the papers.
