Judy Neimeyer is also a great paper-piecing pattern designer. Some of hers are pretty easy - others not so easy, but I love most of her patterns. Her web site is Quiltworx.com Good luck. Paper piecing produces some fantastic designs.

Hi, I also found that to be the most difficult part of paper piecing. I use the paper from Carol Doak and still have to really
crease it and use my fingernail to help crease it when folding the paper. This extra creasing weakens the fibers in the paper. When I made my first paper piecing block the pieces were extra tiny and I had problems ripping the paper but that
tough crease solved that problem

You can use freezer paper, one piece for each block, then you don't have to rip it off since you don't sew thru it. Use a threadless needle and your machine to sew on all the sewing lines of the pattern. Iron the freezer paper to your fabric and it'll stick, fold on your sew line, stitch right next to the line and go onto the next piece. Cheryl Malkowski shows how to accomplish this in her book " Blocks to Diamonds". I've done this and it works wonderfully!
