Paper piecing
I think I already know the answer to my question, but thought I'd ask anyway. Is a paper pieced block basically the same as a pieced block? In otherwords, I still need to make a sandwich with batting and backing on it if I am going to use it with a few other blocks in a table runner. Also does it need to be quilted, either in the ditch or machine quilted? Thanks for any help with this.

Yes, it's just a different way of constructing a pieced block. Needs to be sandwiched and quilted. The batting determines how closely you need to quilt. Read the info on the packaging or look on their website.
