I couldn't get the video link to play the section on the X-block, but couldn't you do the same thing with a regular ruler but just paying attention to the measurements? Like an earlier poster, I don't want to purchase a lot of rulers that can only be used with one type of pattern.

probably so, but I don't mind paying 10 bucks or so for a ruler that makes cutting a no brainer, and it looks like you can change up the design quite a bit.

ps- it took me two tries to get the video to play, and you have to click on the picture to start it.

Just look on the front page at the bottom, if it says REV1 - September 2009 Reprint" it has been revised (first revision) as of September 2009. The errata has been corrected in the reprinted editions. I checked, thanks to your comment!!

I admit I'm biased but I LOVE the X-blocks. I never get tired of making them. I suggest picking up whatever size tool you want, following the directions she gives in the packaging, and create your own designs. But watch out - you make one and you're hooked. Patricia Pepe -- the designer --is a genius! Disclaimer: she's also my friend :)

I enjoyed her demo. She seems like a real nice and clever lady. I went ahead and made a purchase.

I've made one of her quilts. If I can figure out how to post a picture I'll try to put it up. The pattern was very easy and there is no waste. The parts that are cut off the squares are used for the borders.
