Default Pattern or instructions help for Ohio Star block

I'd like to know what dimensions to cut the squares to make a 12" Ohio Star block. Any help is appreciated. I think I have it figured out but don't trust myself yet.

If you look at Quilter's Cache there is a pattern for 12" Ohio Star. Good luck. BrendaK

Jan, I like this! BTW: I am in Boston at the moment, my daughter has a business conference here and hubby and I joined her. Driving thru the Alleghenies I can envision the area where you must live. Beautiful.

Thank you everyone! I like Jan' s version to. Do you ladies think her version with four snowball squares would be faster to make than six half square triangles in a typical Ohio star block?
