    Default Pattern for Sport Quilt

I am making a sport quilt for my brother. He is a big Philadelphia fan, so I bought Eagles, Flyers, NBL, and Phillies fabric with coordinating fabric for each team. One team is green/silver; another is red/white/blue, another is orange/black. Does any one have any idea for a pattern to use these totally different colors in a quilt? Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Not seeing the fabrics it's a little difficult....but my first thought was some form of Trip Around the World. Those are always done with lots of different colors / fabrics. You could make it with bigger than normal squares to show off the novelty fabrics....start with one team/color scheme for a couple of "rounds", then the next and the next.
    Good luck !!

Just pick a block you like and put neutral sashing between them. Use black sashing if the fabrics are bright or beige/ cream if the fabrics are mediums.

The BQ pattern might be a good one as you could put the team logo fabrics in the big focus squares. The BQ pattern is by Maple Island Quilts.

I like BQ patterns..how about Shadowbox? You do have to becareful about directional prints, but I think ti would look great in a variety with no matching necessary. I could not get a link to the pattern itself, but here is the website:

    scroll down to Shadowbox.

The quilt that popped in my head of is from the Love of Quilting Nov/Dec 2006 issue, and I also saw it in one of their books like Best of F&P something. It is called Homespun Galaxy. (Different sizes on website.) It has large and medium stars "floating" on a background, with a border of setting triangles. You could make the stars and setting triangles(as team pennants) with each logo print. Or make an unusual border by making the setting triangles into full squares and the border would be pointy. It would be different than most. (Forgive me, my mind starts designing quilts when I am tired. Don't sleep much!)

Here is the link to see what it looks like: http://www.fonsandporter.com/articles/homespun_galaxy

I agree, BQ and BQ2 works great with sports fabric. Usually teams have two colors and that is all you need. It goes together so easily.

My thought is to fussy cut your fabrics, put sashing on them and assemble like a t- shirt quilt.
