I have a PFAFF 2056 and all my pfaffs used a plastic bobbin with a small rectangle slot on one end to grab onto the machine when winding. I don't know the number. But any quilt store would be able to point you in the right direction.

It looks like it takes class 15 plastic bobbins:

My Pfaff dealer sent me Singer bobbins (class 15). The Pfaff bobbins with the slot DO NOT work on the Ambition. I have an older Pfaff that uses those and they are quite different from the Ambition's.

sewmary is right--just recently got my Pfaff ambition and also have an older Pfaff. They do not use the same bobbin.

Prism99, thank for that link. I have a Pfaff and the nearest dealer is 150 miles away. I have bookmarked this link and will use it the next time a need something.

The one thing that link doesn't do is tell you how many bobbins you get for $6.95. Since class 15 is a standard bobbin size, I am thinking that JoAnn Fabrics, Hancocks, and other places (maybe even Walmart?) would stock the plastic ones.

Class 15 bobbins also come in metal, but those are typically for the vintage machines. If your machine came with a plastic bobbin, you want to stick with plastic bobbins so as not to damage the bobbin case.

I would check locally for these bobbins before ordering online, as my bet is that they are widely available (because they fit so many machines).
