Default Pfaff tiptronic 2020

I have had problems with my pfaff tiptronic 2020 when it comes to free motion quilting. It works great straight stitching. I have had it in service twice and they can't find anything wrong. The machine is 14 years old. Does anyone have any ideas

What problem are you having? Do you put the presser foot in the mezzanine position to free motion quilt?

So I was free motion quilting for about an hour. Then came back to it about two hours later to do the border. It started off great. Then I noticed it started skipping stitches. Then the thread started breaking periodically. After retreading the machine and I even changed the needle started sewing again. It didn't sound right so I stopped and underneath was was one big thread mess. Now why? Nothing changed The thread was the same the tension never changed I literally wanted to through the machine out the window

Default Pfaff 2020 Free Motion Quilting

Patty: I see that this is an old post from 4 years ago....was anyone ever able to help you with your question about free motion quilting with your Pfaff 2020? I am having the same problem. I signed up for a free motion quilting class last Friday and when I got to class, I could not get my 2020 to cooperate. I used the teacher's machine and by the end of the class I could sew my first name in cursive handwriting. Any tips--if you can remember them--you can provide will help!
